How Many Weeks Do You Pay For Student Accommodation?

Our tenancy is usually a 48-week contract, covering the full academic year. This contract length is desired by many students who tend to spend summer months away from their student accommodation to spend time with loved ones, travel, work or other reasons.

Can You Pay for Student Accommodation Monthly? 

Usually, student accommodation is paid via instalments that align with student maintenance loan payments. Student maintenance loans, typically occur three times per academic year and will come directly out of your bank account at the start of each semester.

Methods of payment will differ depending on the provider and some will allow you to pay for your student accommodation monthly. For this reason, it is important to check directly with your chosen accommodation provider. 

Do Tuition Fees Cover Accommodation?

No, tuition fees do not include accommodation for students. Instead, they are intended to cover the overall fees of your course, which can include classroom time, admin, support services and other university-related services that are available.

How Much Maintenance Loan Can I Get?  

The amount of student maintenance loan will vary from person to person and is based on a variety of factors.

However, for the academic year 2024/5, the minimum amount of student loan available in England is £3,790 and the maximum amount of student loan available in England is £13,762.

Two of the main factors that influence the amount of student loan you will receive are:

Do You Need A Tenancy Deposit For Student Accommodation?

Renting student accommodation often requires a tenancy deposit, typically refundable and equivalent to several weeks' rent. Some landlords now offer alternatives like deposit replacement schemes, which are non-refundable but cost less upfront.

Do You Need A Guarantor For Student Accommodation?

No, you will not need to provide a guarantor if you choose Stockton Students as your student accommodation provider. We recognise that not everybody has a reliable guarantor, and this should not stop them from getting a degree.
